FOI request detail

Automatic traffic counter on A2 Blackeath Hil

Request ID: FOI-2928-2122
Date published: 31 March 2022

You asked

I understand that there is an automatic traffic counter on A2 Blackeath Hill. This is referred to as count point 26101 by Department for Transport and is included in their annual data provision at this address https://roadtraffic.dft.gov.uk/local-authorities/105 (DfT get this information from TfL but I don’t know how you all refer to it internally.) We would like to look at the data from this count point for the past four years, are you able to share this with us?

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2928-2122

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 17th March 2022 asking for information about the Automatic Traffic Counter on the A2 Blackheath Hill.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

We would like to look at the data from this count point for the past four years, are you able to share this with us?”.

Please note that CP26101 referred to by the DfT is a manual count point used to collect data by the DfT manual enumeration as part of the DfT annual national traffic survey.  It does not refer to a TfL Automatic Traffic Counter (ATC) at this same location. However, a map within the spreadsheet attached shows that our ATC  is very close to the location of this count point, and the relevant data from that ATC is attached.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,
