Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 February 2023 asking for information about written translation services.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. You asked:
• How much do you spend on written translations?
• Are you currently under contract?
• If you are currently under contract with what supplier and when is the expiry date?
• When do you intend to issue the next tender?
• How will you tender? Will it be via framework and if so which one?
• Who is the responsible person overseeing the contract for translation services?
Translation services are part of a multitude of services included as part of different agreements and so we do not hold a centralised figure for this specifically.
However, you will find some information on our website using the following link: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/contracts-awarded-tfl.pdf. This provides details of current framework agreements and when they will expire by using keywords such as ‘translation’ to retrieve these results.
One such agreement that you may be interested in can be seen below. However, translation can and does feature within other more broader contracts covering various services and so we do not hold a complete figure in response to your questions.
