Thank you for your clarification of your original request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 February 2019.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.  I can confirm we do hold some of the information you require.

The Mayor’s Electric Vehicle taskforce brings together industry leaders, to draw up plans for the future of London’s Electric Vehicle infrastructure. The work of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Taskforce is not yet completed so there are no decisions arising from the Taskforce as of yet and no finalised reports. The taskforce work has not collected lists of installed or planned charge points. We have used Zapmap to illustrate existing charge points which is available on their website using the following link: https://www.zap-map.com/

What is TfL’s role in the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Taskforce?

TfL has been managing a series of workshops and meetings to obtain stakeholder input to Taskforce. TfL has also convened meetings of the Taskforce itself to discuss the key findings and the Delivery Plan – the main product of the Taskforce’s work.

What actions has TfL taken as part of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Taskforce?

The Taskforce’s work has not concluded yet. It is anticipated that it will report in the summer 2019.

2) Charging Point Roll Out

For TfL owned land which locations now have rapid/other charging points?  Please see attached.

Which locations on TfL owned land are scheduled to get rapid/other charging points and when? Please see attached.  Sites have been included that are due to go live by April, subject to change.

For TfL depots which ones now have rapid/other charging points? – We are not aware of any Rapid Charge Points installed at TfL depots.

3) Which companies are installing the charge points?

For each existing TfL chargepoint please state which company has installed it The Charge Point Operator, awarded through the TfL Rapid Charge Point framework  can be seen in the attached document ‘Charge Point Operator.csv’.  Where Rapid Charge Points are delivered on private sites, TfL provide grant funding for the enabling works, the private organisation has autonomy to appoint their own Charge Point operator.

For each planned TfL chargepoint please state which company will install it The Charge Point Operator, awarded through the TfL Rapid Charge Point framework  can be seen on tab 4 see attached. Where Rapid Charge Points are delivered on private sites, TfL provide grant funding for the enabling works, the private organisation has autonomy to appoint their own Charge Point operator.

4) Information on chargepoints for the public

Which TfL officer/department for providing information on publicly available TfL chargepoints? The Charge Point Operator, awarded through the TFL Rapid Charge Point framework, provides the information to ZapMap directly when the unit is installed and becomes available for use.

When will TfL publicly available on Zap Map? ZapMap data is not owned by TfL and is available for public access. It should be noted that the Charge Point. Operators also maintain a register of their own Rapid Charge Points on their own websites which is available for public use. TfL does not own this data. 

5) TfL Liaison with London Boroughs

Which TfL officer/department is responsible for liaison with London Boroughs on the roll out of chargepoints? The project team and London Councils have led on borough liaison. This has been supported by other teams in TfL, including local communities and partnerships.

Have any policies/procedures been agreed with London Boroughs to ensure a consistent approach to installation?

To date installation on both TLRN and borough road network has been co-ordinated by TfL project team.

If yes please provide

If no any there any plans to do this?

Boroughs will have the responsibility to install charge points on their road network according to appropriate design standards and best practice regarding streetscape.

Which TfL officer/department is responsible for liaison with London Boroughs on the maintenance of chargepoints?

The chargepoint operators are responsible for maintenance.
