I would like figures on how much TFL is set to save per annum by scrapping routes 332, 455, 507 and 521.

Thank you for your requests received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24th and 26th January 2023 asking for information about changes to various bus routes.
Your requests have been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Under case ref FOI-2731-2223 you asked the following:
“How much is TFL set to save annually from scrapping routes 332, 507 and 521?”
Under case ref FOI-2732-2223 you asked form the same information but with the addition of route 455.
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information as we have made no estimate of the savings that might accrue from the changes to these individual routes (and note that there is no obligation to create new information in response to FOI requests). When changes are made to bus routes it is never as simple an equation as saying a withdrawal of route x will save y. Rather, when we make such changes there will be related changes to a number of other routes to maintain links, which carries additional costs. There are also other factors involved such as the redeployment of vehicles, and changes in revenue as passenger numbers change. Lastly, note that route 332 is simply being renumbered as route 16. Given all of these points, there is no meaningful number we can give for savings accrued by changes to these four individual routes.
