Have London Underground given product approval/ acceptance to any suppliers of composite/ recycled plastic sleepers? Yes, we have given product approval to two suppliers currently with a further three products seeking product approval.
If so does the acceptance include use in tunnels? No, the product is currently not fit for tunnels.
Is there a technical requirements specification for composite/ recycled sleepers? Yes, this is due for tender in May 2022.
