TfL Ref: FOI-2651-2122
Thank you for your request of 22nd February 2022 asking for a London Underground platform route map and information signs.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
I attach a copy of the platform route map for Covent Garden station, Piccadilly Line, Westbound, as requested. It is unclear whether your request was in relation to this map alone or whether it was for all platform route maps for the entire London Underground system. If the latter, then I am afraid it is not possible to comply with the request within the costs limit for responding to cases as set out under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Under section 12, TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if the information is held, and to then locate, retrieve or extract that information for elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour. With 272 stations on the network, with multiple platforms, it is not possible to source the equivalent maps for every station on the newtwork. However, I hope the version provided is of use.
In terms of “information signs”, please see the information that can be found via the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/suppliers-and-contractors/design-standards?intcmp=5837 - if you click on ‘London Underground’ + sign the information is provided by different lines. In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
