I would like to know how many Oyster Zip card applications you have received in the last 12 months, how many applications you have actually processed and issued and how many applications are outstanding.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
I would like to know how many Oyster Zip card applications you have received in the last 12 months, how many applications you have actually processed and issued and how many applications are outstanding.
In the last 12 months, we have received 284,451 Zip Oyster photocard applications.
We determine applications processed as those where the customer has provided all relevant information and paid the administration fee. In the last 12 months, 278,398 Zip Oyster photocards have been processed.
We don’t refer to applications as outstanding but as ‘In Progress’ as the applicant needs to take action. For example, this may be uploading relevant evidence of eligibility, uploading a photo or providing eligible documentation at a Post Office and/or paying the administration fee.
Over the last 12 months, there are 39,253 applications in total that are still in progress because the applicant needs to provide further detail or pay.
