Our ref: FOI-2616-2223/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 17 January 2023 asking for information about Aldgate East station closures.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please find attached a spreadsheet showing Aldgate East station closures for the period 16/10/2022 - 14/01/2023 (90 days).

The recording of station closures is done manually and thus small discrepancies are not uncommon.  All information should be used as a guide.

The data included is based on the station being fully closed meaning passengers cannot enter or exit the station, and all train services running through the station non-stopping so passengers cannot interchange either. The data does not include planned station closures or closures due to Industrial Action.

All closures are due to station staff unavailability.

Please also find attached a second spreadsheet which shows the hourly Oyster / Contactless ‘taps’ (either exit or entry).

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
