Good afternoon, Please can you supply me with the following information: Registration number Make Model Colour Licence start and end dates (if available) for all vehicles registered as a Taxi, Hackney Carriage or for Private Hire from May 2024 to the present day. A spreadsheet format by email would be perfect if you can do that. The data will be re-used under RPSI to inform vehicle retailers or members of the public, whether a vehicle has been used as a taxi in the past, based on the registration they supply for the search. This also applies to data from previous FOI requests.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 November 2024 asking for information about Taxi and Private Hire vehicles.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Taxi and private hire vehicles are licensed on an annual basis and where there is a period of relicensing some data in the vehicle records are overwritten to reflect the new licence. Therefore, the information available is a snapshot of all licensed taxi and private hire vehicles. This information is published on our website, and will be updated quarterly:

November 2024 data is currently available, and this is the most recent data we hold. All vehicles are licensed in London by Transport for London.
