I would like to request information on the average length of bus journeys over the last 21 years in London.
If this information is available for all bus routes, between two representative years over this period would be helpful.
Or if you need a specific bus route, can I suggest the 55 route, with the average time taken to complete the full journey.
Can I request this data from 2000 and 2021?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7th January 2023 asking for information about bus journey lengths.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:

Can I request this data from 2000 and 2021?
Our current database from which this information is sourced only holds detailed data for two years. The attached file therefore provides distances (in metres), scheduled running times (in minutes) and scheduled trip counts by route-direction across the entire Network (excluding Rail Support routes). The data was taken from typical weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays at the end of years 2020, 2021 and 2022.
