TfL Ref: 2495-2425
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 November 2024 asking for information about the A20 order Design plan and risk assessment on temporary speed restrictions.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You specifically asked: Please could you supply the following to me by post paper format as I do not have a printer or have Internet where I live.
1: A20 speed restriction Manuel design plan (produced by <redacted>) from the start of these speed reductions
2: The risk assessment associated with the above plan signed off by who ever
We do not hold the information you have requested. It appears that you are referring to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual – Traffic Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works and Temporary Situations: Traffic signs manual - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). Please note that the A20 scheme you are referring to was not a temporary situation and as such, Chapter 3 rather than Chapter 8 applies. The guidance in Chapter 3 was adhered to, maintaining an overall effect of the signs to provide adequate guidance to drivers of the speed limit.
We have published a number of responses on this topic which are available on our website – a search term of A20 will bring up a number of results which you may be interested in: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
