Hi, could you please share what suicide prevention training is offered to staff?
We answered
Our ref: FOI-2475-2122/GH Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 29 January 2022 asking for information about suicide prevention training. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. We offer suicide prevention training, which is available to all members of staff, via a training course that is delivered by external specialists. It was previously in the classroom, but since the pandemic has moved across to be a virtual session run on Microsoft Teams. The course is tailored for our operational staff members, focusing on spotting signs of potential suicidal activity, and then how to safely engage with the individual and techniques to take them to a place of safety. You may be interested to know that if you wish to attend a suicide prevention course, an organisation we work with called Thrive LDN run a 20minute training session that is open to anybody that would like to attend https://thriveldn.co.uk/campaigns/zerosuicideldn/ If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
