Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31st October 2024 asking for information about the speed limit on the A20.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Can u please tell me the date the A20 change speed limit from 40 to 70 please I need the date”.
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The speed limit was reduced to 40mph on 18 October 2023, as per the attached Order.
Note that the speed limits reverted back to original limits on 23rd October 2024.
The dates for the enforcement of the speed limits would be a matter for the police to advise on, as speed limit enforcement is a matter for them rather than TfL.
