We answered
Our Ref: FOI-2444-2122
Thank you for your request received on 27 January 2022 asking for information about the Costain Skanska joint venture (CSJV) contract for Crossrail.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
Costain skanska lost the contract in March 2020, what was the precise date that they lost the contract?
In response to the impact of coronavirus, Crossrail Ltd reviewed and restructured the remaining works across the project that are essential to the opening of the railway. This included Bond Street, which was uniquely affected due to the volume of work remaining and the number of people required on site. This meant that the work remaining at Bond Street for Trial Running needed to be replanned.
Given the unique circumstances at Bond Street, it was mutually agreed by Crossrail and contractor CSJV that the existing contract should conclude. Crossrail Ltd has continued to oversee completion of the remaining works at Bond Street.
The contract was terminated in June 2020, the last day the contract was active was June 24 2020.
When did the review of Bond street troubles commence? When did Crossrail receive the substantial delay to Bond Street?
We were continually updated on the status of Bond Street, as with all other stations along the route. The monthly update from Crossrail to the London Assembly in July 2020 provided an update on the progress of the stations, pg 2 refers to the delays to Bond Street due to the pandemic:
