Can you please provide details of the usage of the reversing siding/tunnel at Tooting Broadway on the Northern Line, specifically how many/what trains use this on a regular basis, and if any services are regularly timetabled to use it.

Thank you for your email received on 23 February 2017 asking for information about the usage of the reversing siding/tunnel at Tooting Broadway on the Northern Line.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

 

Tooting Broadway sidings do not form part of the regular Northern Line Timetable. They are used once a week on a Sunday for testing the infrastructure. These siding are only used when there is disruption to the train service and trains are being diverted / short tripped.
