Dear Transport for London,
From 01/11/19 there is a strict 15 year taxi age mandate.
I would be obliged if you can supply me with the figure for the number of current licensed taxis which will not be permitted to obtain a licence during the period 01/11/19 - 31/10/19
For clarification, the number of vehicles that will no longer be able to extend their licence into year 16 & those vehicles that have previously extended into year 16

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1 November 2019 asking for information about taxis.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
As of 19 November, there were 1,296 taxis that are 14 years old and have licences which expire between 1 November 2019 and the end of October 2020. These vehicles will not be eligible to be relicensed as they will exceed the maximum age limit of 15 years once their current licence expires.
