Please may you provide the latest research or information you have on the average time that a lift is out of service in tube stations, the DLR, Elizabeth Line and London Overground services over the last 12 months.
We answered
TfL Ref: 2071-2223 Thank you for your further email received by us on 28 November 2022 asking for information about the lifts out of service in our tube, DLR, Elizabeth line and London Overground stations. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked for the average time that a lift is out of service (over the last 12 months) for our tube, DLR, Elizabeth line and Overground services.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested and to try and calculate a meaningful figure for each of the modes you have asked about would involve the creation of new information which is not a requirement under the FOI Act. To explain further, although we keep data on lift breakdowns at specific stations across the modes you have asked about, for example we report on the number of breakdowns for lifts at a particular station across a specified time period, we have no business need to record the average duration data you have requested. In addition, the figure you have asked about could potentially be calculated in a number of different ways using different variables dependant on the mode.
