We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-2069-2425 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27th September 2024 asking for information about accidents at Clapham Junction station. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. Specifically you asked: “Please can you inform me of how many accidents have been reported at Clapham Junction railway station, due to the huge gaps on platforms. (Ideally within the last two years or more)”. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. Please note, the only TfL mode that serves Clapham Junction station is the London Overground, where the majority of trains depart / terminate at platforms 1 and 2. In the last two years there has been one incident of a passenger falling between the train and the platform edge on the London Overground platforms. Please be aware that safety incident data is extracted from a live management information system and is subject to change due to ongoing data validation and late reporting. The figure provided is correct at the time of reporting. The vast majority of services that call at Clapham Junction station are part of the National Rail rather than TfL network, and the station is managed by Network Rail. In order to get a comprehensive answer to your question regarding these other services you will need to redirect your request to that body. FOI requests to Network Rail can be made via its website here: https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/transparency-and-ethics/freedom-of-information-foi/ If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
