TfL Ref: FOI-2065-1920
Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 October 2019.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked for:
1. Total cost for the new boats project including consultation costs and any outstanding projected costs.
Final cost for the whole project is £ 37.814M, which included the costs of the new boats, removing old berths and building new ones, and along with other costs.
The vessels were purchased through a competitive tender process via an OJEU notice and went through commercial evaluation.
There is no outstanding projected cost.
2 Number of days in 2016,2017,2018 and 2019 that there was no service, a one day service or restricted service
It is not clear from the question if the request is for number of days of ’full day’ or ’partial day’ closure. So we have provided every event including scenarios of planned closures (e.g. Marathon event) and where external conditions are above the vessels (new and old) design tolerance for safe operating.
3. How many days were predicted for the shutdown while the new boats were commissioned and how many actual days was the service shutdown.
Old ferries came out of service on 6 Oct 18. The anticipated start date to put new vessels into service was on 31 Dec 18. However, they didn’t start service until 6 Feb 19.
