London cycle lanes capacity
Request ID: FOI-2001-1819
Date published: 20 November 2018
You asked
I would like to obtain details of the design and observed capacities (cycles per hour per direction) of the various types of cycle lane adopted in London, where 'types of lane' includes unidirectional, bidirectional shared, segregated, and non-segregated, of various widths.
I wondered if TfL held information on this.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-2001-1819
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31 October 2018 asking for information about cycle lane capacities.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.
Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as the majority of cycle lanes in London are on borough roads rather than those controlled by TfL.
You may want to see our the London Cycling Design Standards on our website at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/streets-toolkit#on-this-page-2 which may be of interest.
I’m sorry that I’m unable to be of further assistance.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
