When will 'Brook Street (F)' & 'Hounslow Blenheim Centre (AP)' bus stops reopen to serve passengers?

You asked

Hey TfL, I just wanted to ask you 1 more question about the reopening of bus tops in London. 1) Would you mind letting me know when will the Bus Stop 'Brook Street (stop F)' in Kingston reopen - as it has long been closed due to construction works overhead? 2) The last terminal stop of the H37 Bus Route from Richmond to Hounslow is at the 'Hounslow Blenheim Centre' bus stop (stop AP) - but if I have not lost my count, the bus stop has been officially closed since at least 4 years now (probably since late 2017) - due to a large construction behind. Now that most of the project's construction is ready and completed by now, the road is getting rid of the scaffoldings and hoardings and is again becoming wider for buses to stop, so I just wanted to ask you when is this bus stop going to finally resume stopping passengers by the flagpole of the Bus Stand itself (right now since the past 4 years, the buses has been taking a U-turn and dropping us on the other side of the road in one of the parking bays for the buses to terminate upon)? Additionally, I just wanted to request you at TfL to resume to 24-hour service H37 used to provide on Fridays & Saturdays before the Covid-19 pandemic until 2020 - as I believe the bus provides an important connection connecting the Town Centres of 2 West London boroughs with one another.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-1993-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14th November 2022 asking for information about closed bus stops.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Your questions are answered in turn below:

Question 1) Would you mind letting me know when will the Bus Stop 'Brook Street (stop F)' in Kingston reopen - as it has long been closed due to construction works overhead?

Answer: I understand that the stop was opened on Sunday 13 November.

Question 2) The last terminal stop of the H37 Bus Route from Richmond to Hounslow is at the 'Hounslow Blenheim Centre' bus stop (stop AP) - but if I have not lost my count, the bus stop has been officially closed since at least 4 years now (probably since late 2017) - due to a large construction behind.

Answer:  We do not have a specific date recorded for this. I can confirm that due to the footway being suspended, the stop remains closed as customers, including those with protected characteristics, cannot access the stop, and neither can the ramp from the bus be deployed.  We will make contact with the work contractors to enquire how long the stop suspension will be required.

Question 3) Additionally, I just wanted to request you at TfL to resume to 24-hour service H37 used to provide on Fridays & Saturdays before the Covid-19 pandemic until 2020 - as I believe the bus provides an important connection connecting the Town Centres of 2 West London boroughs with one another.

Answer: This is not a request for recorded information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. However, that said, note that TfL keeps the bus network, including the night bus network, under continuous review. It will continue to monitor night bus loadings as demand continues to recover following the pandemic. Night bus demand has been affected by the speed of recovery of work and leisure activities, as well as the return of Night Tube services, and this is being taken into account in any plans for service changes. Weekend-only night buses were originally introduced to support Night Tube and were temporarily withdrawn alongside Night Tube during the pandemic. Following the recent re-introduction of Night Tube services we are considering changes we may wish to make to the night bus network. TfL will engage and communicate in the usual way on any changes to night bus services, including consultation where it is proposed to make any permanent changes to route configuration or withdraw a route.
