FOI request detail

Authorised vehicles for right turn onto Swan Lane from A3211 Upper

Request ID: FOI-1993-1718
Date published: 06 November 2017

You asked

Approaching Eastbound from the A3211 Upper Thames Street there is a small red sign indicating that right turns are only permitted for authorised vehicles. I would like to know whether the sign is official, and if so, what vehicles are authorised and how long this measure is in place for.

We answered

Our Ref:         FOI-1993-1718

Thank you for your request received on 20 October 2017 asking for information about the right turn onto Swan Lane from A3211 Upper Thames Street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

For clarification, the right turn into Swan Lane for eastbound traffic on Upper Thames Street is not permitted. The sign in question relates to restrictions in place for London Underground’s Bank Station Capacity Upgrade worksite within Arthur Street and has been tampered with, resulting in the sign facing the incorrect direction of traffic. This has now been rectified by contractors on site and we will keep this under review.

If this is not the information you are looking for please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
