Request ID: FOI-1987-2223
Date published: 06 December 2022

You asked

Since Transport for London adopted DfT's National Standards Guidance policy in December 2021 please give me the figures requested below' 1) How many TfL licensed taxi drivers (Black Cabs) have been sanctioned by suspension or, revocation of their Cab driver licence for accruing 6 or more penalty points on their DVLA licence? 2) How many TfL licensed Private Hire drivers have been sanctioned by licence suspension or revocation for accruing 6 or more penalty points on their DVLA licence.

We answered

Our Ref:         FOI-1987-2223

Thank you for your request received on 12 November 2022 asking for information about taxi and private hire suspensions or revocations.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

We do not hold the information you have requested. A licence may be suspended or revoked once a taxi or private hire driver has accrued 12 or more penalty points, not 6. Full details of the action we take with regards to driving licence endorsements, including an instance where 6 points is given for a single serious driving offence, can found in our TPH Driver Policy.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
