TfL Ref: 1964-1617
Thank you for your email received on 12 January 2017 asking for impact assessments and plans regarding allowing Piccadilly line services to stop at Turnham Green station during the day.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.
We have not changed our plans regarding stopping at Turnham Green station, and the Piccadilly line upgrade is still scheduled for completion in 2026/27.
By way of background, between August and October 2013 we carried out an engagement programme to gauge people’s opinion of the Piccadilly line, and received more than 14,000 responses. Feedback from customers and stakeholders demonstrated strong local support for changing stopping arrangements at Turnham Green station. On 21 January 2014 we committed to stop all Piccadilly line trains at Turnham Green station following the completion of the line upgrade, and as such we have not carried out any recent impact assessments which meet the requirements of your request.
We have however identified some older documents dating from 2011-2013 which pre-date the current situation. These contain out of date assessments of the impact of Piccadilly line trains not stopping against Piccadilly lines stopping at Turnham Green station. These were superseded by the document published in the following link. If you would like a copy of these older documents, please let me know. https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/tube/piccadillyline/user_uploads/piccadilly-line-engagement-conclusions-report---22-jan-14.pdf-1
The Piccadilly line upgrade of the signalling and train control system is scheduled for completion in 2026/27 following which all Piccadilly line trains will begin to stop at Turnham Green station. It will not be possible for all Piccadilly line trains to stop at Turnham Green any sooner than 2026/7 due to the signalling works and fleet delivery which are required to enable this change. This was never planned for 2022 as far as we are aware.
