TfL Ref: 1913-2021

Thank you for your request received by us on 22 December 2020 asking for spatial data showing bus delays in the London Borough of Ealing.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

maps (or other spatial data) for Ealing Borough, showing where buses are delayed. If available it would be useful to see this for last year (2019 e.g. before COVID) as well as data for July 2020 and more recent months (september and October 2020).

Please find attached html files providing two different views of bus journey times in Ealing during the financial yearly reporting periods we use from July through to October; specific dates are provided in the table below.  Within each map it is possible to zoom within and hover over links to see their values.

The red-green maps highlight the stop-to-stop links in Ealing where the average bus journey times in each period this year were more than 30 seconds per km different to those in the same period last year. As they are colour coded, green equates to better, whilst red denotes to the contrary. The averages are taken across the four weeks in each period, weekdays only from Monday to Friday, for journey times during 07:00-19:00 and across bus routes using that link.

The blue maps show the average journey times this year for all stop-to-stop links in Ealing. Again, the averages are taken across the four weeks in each period, weekdays only from Monday to Friday, for journey times from 07:00-19:00 and across bus routes using that link.

It should be noted that neither of these are views of delays in terms of scheduled journey times. For example, there may be areas with expected longer journey times which are scheduled accordingly, however, we do not hold that data in the format requested.

In the meantime, the following dates are covered by reporting periods four to eight during this financial year 2020/21 and last year, 2019/20:

                                    Period Dates covered                          Dates covered
This year (2020/21)                              Last year (2019/20)
