Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10th December 2020 asking for information about station car parks.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

“The website http://parkandridelondon.com/london-underground-car-parks/map-all-parking lists 54 station car parks operated by TFL. The mayor answering 2019/8999 (https://www.london.gov.uk/questions/2019/8999 listed 15 car parks for development which included two further sites - Northwood Town and High Barnet which are not in the 54 sites.

Can you confirm that 56 is the total number of sites or would you add any further sites omitted?

Also, pls advise which of these sites is covered by the TFL Property Partnerships Framework and who the Joint Venture Partner is for each.

Pls further advise what the status and plans are for each site - for example, future plans to be decided, plans under evaluation, public consultation in progress, planning application submitted, planning application approved, construction underway.

In answer to your first question on the number of station car parks operated by TfL, this is in fact 79 across all transport modes operating under the TfL banner. Note that you can find a full list of all our car parks on our website here:

We take a consistent and detailed approach to all potential development sites on our estate, including car parks. We currently have 50 active development sites, a handful of which are car parks which were identified as suitable for development. We are using a number of routes to release our sites, including our property partnerships framework of 13 leading developers, direct-development and site-specific partnerships. Our programme offers an opportunity to build homes and communities around the transport hubs where people want to live and work. To make the most of this we want to work with local authorities, land owners and the best of the development industry.

Partners for Blackhorse Road, Finchley Central, High Barnet and Wembley Park were selected through our Property Partnerships Framework.

For ease, I have included the following table which shows the development partner and development status for current car park developments. Note that we are not currently redeveloping Northwood Town, where we are working to improve the existing retail estate, and we are still considering our next steps for proposals at Harrow-on-the-Hill.
