Dear London Underground, I would like to request the (i) total cost, and (ii) a cost breakdown of London Underground’s master lock and key suit upgrade. Further information regarding this upgrade program can be found here: http://www.mlsrail.co.uk/key-suit.html Total cost should include consultation and design; costs of locks, keys and other hardware; installation costs, and any other associated expenses. If possible, I would also like to request (iii) a full or part cost breakdown according to individual manufacturers (ASSA, Multi-Lock, and Winkhaus).

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9 October 2017 asking for information about the cost of London Underground’s master lock and key suit upgrade.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require.

There has been no recent ‘master lock and key suit upgrade’ on London Underground. The current contract is with Lanes who have subcontracted Young and Young to perform these services. We have identified some key suiting that was undertaken by MLS in early 2016, but it is unclear if it is this that you are requesting details for.

If you are able to provide more specific details on the information you require, we will be happy to look into this further for you, but we have been unable to identify the upgrade you refer to.
