Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 11 November 2021 asking for information about Church Street/Green Lanes traffic light phasing changes.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
In September 2021, the London Borough Hackney implemented a closure on Stoke Newington Church Street that prevents through traffic travelling between the A10 and Green Lanes. This closure has caused traffic to reassign around the wider network - particularly this can be seen at the Green Lanes and Stoke Newington Church Street where there has been an increase in demand on Green Lanes, and a decrease on Stoke Newington Church Street.
Recently, we have amended the traffic signal plans at both (A10 / Stoke Newington Church Street and Greens Lanes / Stoke Newington Church Street) junctions following a full review of the signals in the area. Please find attached historic green time durations for Church Street and Green Lanes these show the timings pre and post changes introduced on Stoke Newington Church Street.
