TfL Ref: 1654-1920

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 September 2019 asking for information about private car park space costs.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

You asked: Car Parks: For each of the last five financial years, how much has TFL paid to hire private car park space. Please provide details of the costs and the car park companies used.

We are not aware of TfL paying any ongoing fee for hiring private parking spaces. TfL itself owns around c. 80 car parks. Contractors who work for TfL either use our own car parks or cover their own parking costs where necessary.

We have on occasion reserved car parking spaces out of our lease with NCP for construction purposes but our lease allows us to do that. We also have arrangements at various locations for parking provision within private land which was negotiated as part of our development agreements.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
