Our Ref:         FOI-1631-1718

Thank you for your request received on 25 September 2017 asking for information about possible Crossrail2 plans in the Berrylands and Tolworth wards in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

The Crossrail 2 Growth Commission (please see the below link) identified the potential for Crossrail 2 to deliver around 200,000 homes and 200,000 jobs across the route.

It was recognised that achieving this may require potential changes in land use policies and the adoption of appropriate development frameworks. Any growth potential associated with the scheme would therefore need to be explored, tested and adopted through relevant planning policy documents, including the London Plan produced by the Greater London Authority and the Kingston Local Plan produced by the Royal Borough of Kingston.

The Direction of Travel for the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames (please see the below link) has begun to identify those parts of the borough that may be able to support changed levels of development as a result of Crossrail 2.

As opportunities for accommodating higher growth are progressed through the London Plan and local planning documents, the Crossrail 2 project will work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the scheme can support the long term development potential of the areas that it serves.
