Electricity source for the Waterloo bus station
Request ID: FOI-1600-1819
Date published: 24 September 2018
You asked
I am requesting to find out the average km traveled per day for the ~50 new BYD hybrid and electric buses running out of the Waterloo bus garage on routes 507 and 521. With this estimate, I can analyze the emissions from electricity usage per bus, based on average emissions per kWh from the electricity grid. This would allow me to complete my honors thesis at the University of Colorado Boulder. The main point of this paper is to look at the change in curbside air quality from the implementation of the buses, but this would be a great extension.
Lastly, it would help my honors paper if I could know where this electricity is generated upstream.
