Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
The Rostering and Coverage Tool (RCT) has been in development for three years and has not yet been implemented. Could you therefore calculate the total cost of developing the Rostering and Coverage Tool thus far?
The total cost of developing the RCT is estimated at £14.95m.
The purpose of investing in the new system was to combine many of the paper-based processes that were being used, for example, coverage planning and shift swapping and changing annual leave into one rostering and coverage solution.
The new electronic system was designed to automate the coverage/shift administration processes in a simple online tool enabling staff to self-serve and manage their schedules remotely without being in an office.
