You asked
Hello
I’d like to know:
How many rental units are there on TfL stations in total?
Can I get figures on the rental vacancy rate - with what percentage of venues are vacant for 3 or more months in the year 2016, 2017 & 2018
Can I have those figures broken down by inner and outer London
Can I have average rental cost per annum broken down for 2016, 2017 & 2018 for units in Inner and Outer London

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 August 2019 asking for information about rental units at stations.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
How many rental units are there on TfL stations in total?
There are 2,100 retail units across the TfL estate
Can I get figures on the rental vacancy rate - with what percentage of venues are vacant for 3 or more months in the year 2016, 2017 & 2018
By rent, less that 5% of estate is vacant and on market to let in 2018/19. Due to the way TfL classified information previously the rental vacancy rate is not available for 2016 or 2017.
Can I have those figures broken down by inner and outer London –
This is not possible as TfL does not classify units by ‘inner’ or ‘outer’ London
Can I have average rental cost per annum broken down for 2016, 2017 & 2018 for units in Inner and Outer London
Our commercial estate is hugely diverse, from small kiosks in outer London to large central London locations. The average rental cost is £35,000 but as this is an average it is not representative of our estate. The majority of businesses on our estate are small businesses, with rentals below £20,000.
