TfL Ref: FOI-1400-1718

Thank you for your email received on 5 September asking for information about non-disclosure agreements.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm that we do not hold the information you require. You asked:

“Please provide me copies of the Non Disclosure Agreement between TFL & Uber/Uber London Ltd, please redact any personal details, for clarification I only wish to know items/clauses included in the agreement, I do not wish to know any data/information connected with these items/clauses”

We believe your request is in relation to a proposed NDA referred to in an email sent by TfL on 9 May 2016 (which we have subsequently disclosed in reply to an FOI request).

We approached some licensed private hire operators and taxi companies who provide app booking services, to ask them if they would share data with us on the following:

  • Number of bookings, including changes over time; and

  • Trip characteristics, such as trip distance (miles), trip length (time), day of week, time of day and fares.

We anticipated that the companies would have concerns about sharing this information as they would consider it to be commercially sensitive and so offered to put in place a non-disclosure agreement.

Despite making initial contact with some companies, we have not proceeded with the request; therefore no NDAs were signed with private hire operators or taxi booking companies.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
