Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I confirm that we do not hold the information you have requested. You asked:
I would like to know if within the past five years, TfL has ever conducted a survey at a London station or airport for the purpose of observing and ascertaining the amount, dimensions and weight of luggage that a London taxi needs to be able to carry safely and securely.
We have no record of having carried out a survey for the purposes you have mentioned within the past five years.
No vehicle may be licensed as a taxi unless it is fit for public service and conforms to the requirements of our Conditions of Fitness. Part of our conditions are that a vehicle must have suitable dedicated provision for the secure carriage of luggage, separated from the passenger compartment and proportionate in size to the number of passengers carried.
