Various questions about Congestion Charging & Traffic Enforcement PCNs

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 31 July 2018 asking for information about traffic enforcement.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

1. The number of PCNs issued by TfL in respect of this location.

    

    

   From 1 August 2017 to 31 July 2018, we issued 1,794 PCNs to vehicles for non-payment of the Congestion Charge when the vehicle was observed in the Congestion Charging zone on Tanner Street.

In accordance with the regulations governing Congestion Charging a motorist can challenge a penalty by submitting a representation to us. If the representation is rejected by us they can submit an appeal against this decision to the Independent Adjudicators at London Tribunals.

We received 190 representations against the 1794 penalties which resulted in 60 PCNs being cancelled. 20 appeals were submitted to London Tribunals which resulted in a further 7 penalties being cancelled.  

I understand that your additional questions a-d regarding the camera etc. were answered by our traffic enforcement team when they responded to your challenge against the Penalty Charge Notice.
