Our Ref:         FOI-1226-2122

Thank you for your revised request received on 9 September 2021 asking for information about the removal of the temporary ticket hall on Durward Street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do not hold the information you require. You asked:

I wish to make a Freedom of Information request on the plans and correspondence in relation to the removal of the temporary ticket hall on Durward Street covering the last year encompassing Crossrail, contractors/ construction company, London Underground, elected representatives to include emails, plans, memos and minutes of meeting.

Unfortunately, to provide the information you have requested would still exceed the ‘appropriate limit’ of £450 set by the Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004. Under section 12 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to comply with a request if we estimate that the cost of determining whether we hold the information, locating and retrieving it and extracting it from other information would exceed the appropriate limit. This is calculated at £25 per hour for every hour spent on the activities described.

We have estimated that your narrowed request would still cost over £450 to provide a response to your current request. This is because it is estimated that it would take in excess of 18 working hours to identify, locate, retrieve and compile the information you have requested.

As previously advised we have carried out searches to determine what information we hold regarding the removal of the temporary ticket hall on Durward Street. We have been unable to identify plans or correspondence relating to the removal of the temporary ticket hall on Durward Street. However, it is likely that we do hold some information relevant to your request but as it is not held centrally by any one team it is difficult to determine how much information we hold and who holds it.

As it has not been possible to process your request, despite the narrowing of the timeframe covered, I would suggest that if you have specific questions then this may be easier to process and provide you with more helpful information rather than a request for correspondence. If, however, you would still like to request correspondence please provide a series of keywords/phrases that we can search against, as well as a timeframe. Please note that any search can only be done for correspondence and we will not be able to carry out a similar search for any plans or additional documentation unless it is attached to an email.

Although your request can take the form of a question, rather than a request for specific documents, we do not have to answer your question if it would require the creation of new information or the provision of a judgement, explanation, advice or opinion that was not already recorded at the time of your request.

Please note that we will not be taking further action until we receive your revised request.

Yours sincerely
