Dear FOI,
The works have commenced on this site during day time hours - i.e. when the DLR trains are running.
I live in Equinox situated just across the road and when the builders are digging our apartment building shudders, I can't bear to think of the impact these works are having on the DLR tunnels running beneath the site.
Are you aware that these works have commenced?
Have you signed off on the works?
Are you continually at the site and carrying out independent assessments? We cannot see any inspectors on the site, only builders.
If not, will you halt this work?
We answered
Thank you for your email received by us on 18 August 2017 asking for information about the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and the Calders Wharf development.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
Are you aware that these works have commenced?
Have you signed off on the works?
We are aware of the works and have not objected to them.
Are you continually at the site and carrying out independent assessments? We cannot see any inspectors on the site, only builders.
If not, will you halt this work?
If the works trigger the tunnel monitoring alarms, we will be automatically notified and there are controls in place to stop those works on site. We do not have, nor perceive needing a permanent site presence but have agreed access to the site at our discretion should this be required.
If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
