TfL Ref: FOI-1206-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14th August 2022 asking for information about ULEZ charges and penalties.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked for the following information:
“1) The total income from the ULEZ charges from the 26th April 2022 to 25th of July 2022
2) The total amount of the penalties issued for non payment payment of the ULEZ charge from the 26th April 2022 to 25th of July 2022”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Please note that TfL regularly publishes such data in our ULEZ Factsheets, which are published on our website here:
The factsheets give data per day over each of the relevant three months, and the total monthly numbers can be calculated from those figures (note that the ULEZ scheme operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year other than Christmas Day). The daily charge for motorcycles, cars, vans and minibuses that do not meet the ULEZ emission standards is £12.50. The factsheets show the daily number of non-compliant vehicles that paid the charge, and also show the daily number of PCNs issued.
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
