FOI request detail

Oystercards and London Councils and Boroughs

Request ID: FOI-1194-2122
Date published: 22 September 2021

You asked

How much have the 33 London Boroughs paid, over the last three years, TFL for Oystercards for either their staff or any other users? Can you please provide a breakdown with the amount for each Borough and the number of Oystercards that they have been using?

We answered

Our ref: FOI-1194-2122/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 September 2021 asking for information about Oystercards and London Councils and Boroughs.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require. A Borough can buy Oyster cards in a number of ways, and this is something we do not record. You may therefore wish to refer your request to the individual Boroughs.

They also pay for Freedom Passes which are on Oyster cards, but London Councils issue them and we just supply their contractor. Should you require information about Freedom Passes you may wish to contact London Councils.

I am sorry we are unable to assist you on this occasion.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
