I will be very grateful if you can forward to me any information on Statistics involving (a) How many "follow up" driving tests have been carried out by Bus driving companies in London over this period, (b) How much Risk Assessment training has been offered to Bus Drivers over this period (c) How many reports of incidences of Assault (Both verbal and physical) bus drivers have been exposed to over this period. (d) How many incidences of injuries suffered from bus drivers have been reported over this period. (e) How many Road accidents have been reported by bus companies over this period. It will be much more beneficial if there could be separate stats for individual Bus Companies as this will assist me greatly in my study.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26 July 2018 asking for information about buses.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.

1. How many "follow up" driving tests have been carried out by Bus driving companies in London over this period

    

   Bus drivers in the London fleet are not employed by TfL and we do not hold records on their qualifications and service. They are employees of private operators.

    

    

2. How much Risk Assessment training has been offered to Bus Drivers over this period

    

   As above, bus drivers in the London fleet are not employed by TfL and we do not hold records on training offered to them.

    

    

3. How many reports of incidences of Assault (both verbal and physical) bus drivers have been exposed to over this period.

    

   We publish all reported incidents on the bus network at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/bus-safety-data and this includes assaults. Drivers are encouraged to report verbal or physical assaults and we do hold this information. If you require further information, please let us know the period you are referring to.

    

    

4. How many incidences of injuries suffered from bus drivers have been reported over this period.

This information is published via the link provided above.

(e) How many Road accidents have been reported by bus companies over this period.

We encourage full reporting of collision incidents involving our contracted bus drivers whether or not the cause was the actions of a third party, and these are also published via the link above.
