You asked
TFL is providing a cycle shuttle through the new Silvertown tunnel. There is also the Greenwich foot tunnel nearby which can be used by cyclists. However there is no way for cyclists to use the existing Rotherhithe tunnel and plans for a cyclist bridge nearby have been abandoned. Has TFL ever looked into providing a cycle shuttle bus through the Rotherhithe tunnel or any other way to allow cyclists to cross the river in this area?

Our ref: FOI-1170-2425/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 July 2024 asking for information about Rotherhithe tunnel and cyclists.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
Pedestrians and cyclists are allowed through the Rotherhithe Tunnel, therefore a shuttle bus is not currently envisaged at that location.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
