Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 August 2017 asking for information about FOI performance.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

At the time of your request we had received 199 Freedom of Information requests we have identified as relating to Taxi & Private Hire since the beginning of 2017.

194 requests had reached the deadline by 4 September 2017, of which 140 were answered within the statutory deadline (72.2%). This does not include those FOI requests relating to TfL’s regulation of the taxi and private hire trades which were not recorded as being the primary responsibility of the Taxi & Private Hire department.

Since April 2017, TfL has answered 91.5% of all requests within the statutory deadline. This is usually 20 working days, but the deadline may be extended to obtain clarification from the requester or to consider the public interest in applying an exemption.

We are working to further improve the FOI response rate within TPH to bring it in line with TfL’s overall response FOI rate.
