Thank you for your email received by us on 01 August 2017 asking for information about accident statistics involving TfL buses and cyclists.

“Serious and Slight accidents involving TfL buses and cyclist over the last five years, sorted by year please. Or the last five years of data that is held.”

Accidents involving TfL buses are recorded by the Police in the combined category bus and coach, this is defined by the Department of Transports STATS20 guide Instructions for the Completion of Road Accident Reports. Our personal injury database is therefore unable to provide these numbers.

Please see a table below showing serious and slight collisions involving a bus or coach and a pedal cycle.  Note that the cyclist may not have been injured. The data is for the last five years to the end of November 2016.  All the 2016 numbers are provisional and are subject to change.
