Follow on from FOI-1157-1516 Accidents pre and post the new lights at Gloucester Place and Melcombe Street: Unless I am mistaken, the 36 month period comparison period should now be available. Although I appreciate that the junction is likely to change with the two way system, I still think the full accident statistics for the 36 months before and after the change would be useful.

Thank you for your request received on 27 July 2017 asking for information about collisions after the installation of the traffic signals at the junction of Gloucester Place with Melcombe Street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

The latest data we have from the Police is to end October 2016, please note that all 2016 data is provisional and subject to change.

For the 36 months after period November 2013-October 2016 there have been six personal injury collisions recorded at this location, one serious and five slight. These collisions resulted in six people being injured one seriously and five slightly ( 1 x pedestrian slight, 2 x powered two wheelers slights, 3 x bus or coach occupants 1 x serious and 2 x slight).

Personal injury road traffic collisions occurring on the public highway are reported in accordance with the Department for Transport (DfT) STATS 19 national reporting system.
