Referring to the consultation response for the bus route changes to EL1 & EL3 (earlier 387): https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/el1-387/ The EL3 new route has a dependency on the bridge works being completed on time. Since the bridge construction is delayed, could you please clarify on the alternative arrangements for EL3 in place to serve the people travelling to the new building of Riverside School? Quoted from reference: From 2 September 2017: Extension of route EL1 to Barking Riverside (Crown Street) via Drovers Road to serve the opening of the new school EL3 routed from River Road via Thames Road, Creek Road, Long Reach Road, Crossness Road, Handley Page Road, Mallards Road, River Road, Drovers Road to the new stand at Crown Street. This is dependent upon the bridge works being completed on time

Thank you for your request received on 24 July 2017 asking for information about the EL3 bus route.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Our current understanding is that the bridge to enable the EL3 re-routeing is estimated to be available from June 2018. No changes to the EL3 are envisaged prior to the bridge opening.

We are working with the Barking Riverside developers to enable route EL1 to be extended to the school when it opens in September 2017. This will be dependent upon a suitable road being available for use and the provision of driver toilets. Bus access to the school will therefore either be via route EL1 or by interchanging from the EL3 onto the EL1.
