Thank you for your request received on 21 July 2017 asking for information about recruitment of older candidates.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.
We do not discriminate against older candidates for any recruitment campaigns we run. TfL is a leading force in London promoting equal opportunities and inclusion at work and has a comprehensive Equality and Inclusion (E&I) Policy. Please find a copy attached. The Equality Act which came into effect in 2010 brings together the different acts of legislation previously in place. The legislation makes it unlawful to discriminate on the basis of sex, marital status, race, nationality, colour, religion/belief, ethnic/national origins, gender, disability, sexual orientation, reassignment or age.
We do not hold information on the age range of all internal candidates that applied for this position as we do not capture age on the application forms.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
