My car reg is as follow: xxxxxxx, I travelled to London on the 17th of July, I have read on many place that Tesla do not need to pay congestion charge, but some places say I have to register, could you please suggest whether I have to register or not? I do not want to get penalty charge as it is a company car.

You will need to register your vehicle with TfL to qualify for any exemption / discount. Further information on this can be found on the following pages of our website:
As you can see, the page includes the following wording:
“You can apply for a discount online, but you'll need to supply certain documents to show you're entitled to the discount. Until we confirm your application is successful, you must continue to pay the daily Congestion Charge in full to drive within the charging zone. These discounts do not apply to the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).” That page contains further information about the types of exemptions and discounts available (such as Cleaner Vehicle Discount).
