Our ref: FOI-0797-1718/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 July 2017 asking for traffic modelling for Cycle Superhighway 11 (CS11) .
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
When CS11 was originally proposed, it was planned to run from Brent Cross to the West End via Hendon Way, Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage, Avenue Road, the Outer Circle of Regent’s Park and Portland Place. However, the section of the route north of Swiss Cottage on Finchley Road and Hendon Way has now been put on hold and at present, we do not have any current plans to progress a CS11 route north of Swiss Cottage. Previous design proposals and assessments for this section were not completed and we are not actively working on any traffic models for CS11 north of Swiss Cottage. If a route north of Swiss Cottage is taken forward in the future, all design and modelling work would start afresh to ensure robust and up to date assessment of the impacts.
In February/ March 2016 we held a consultation on proposals for CS11 running from Swiss Cottage to the West End via Avenue Road, the Outer Circle of Regent’s Park and Portland Place. Details and results of traffic modelling were made available on the TfL website, here: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/cycling/a28a8a05/
Following the consultation we proposed a number of changes to the proposals for CS11. These were explained in detail in the Response to Issues Raised document, which was published in December 2016 and can be found here: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/cycling/cs-11/user_uploads/cs11-response-to-issues-raised.pdf-1 This document includes traffic modelling outputs updated to reflect the changes made to the proposals.
Should the idea of continuing CS11 northbound be taken up again at any time in the future, there would be a full public consultation including designs and traffic modelling, but there are no current plans to do this for the foreseeable future.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
