Thank you for your email of 17^th June 2019 asking for an ethnic breakdown of TfL staff.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

This information is published periodically, including in TfL’s ‘Ethnicity Pay Gap Report’, the latest version of which can be found here:

The table on page 13 shows the number of staff split by categories “White” and “BAME”, and the tables on pages 18, 23 and 28 provide a further breakdown, showing the number of employees reported as “Black or Black British”,  “Asian or Asian British”,

and “Other Ethnic Group” respectively. Note that 23.8% of staff chose not to report their ethnicity.

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
